The beginnings of civilisation on Earth required knowledge of the seasons, and the mysteries surrounding the length of the year, the length of the day and the length of the month began to be studied. The hours are shorter or longer according to their importance. For instance, there is a bigger gap between the hours of lunch break from 12 noon to 2 pm than during working hours.
