The Master Imperial Tourbillon
Precise and noble
The special feature of the new Franck Muller Tourbillon is that it is a "flying" Tourbillon. It is no longer located at the back of the watch-case but at dial level. The withdrawal of the upper bridge of the Tourbillon's cage and its elevation have made it possible to realize this advancement.
The objective was for the Tourbillon to exercise all its magic and power of fascination. By taking flight and rising towards the light, it offers us a glimpse of the perfect rhythm of its movement and carries us off on its trip to eternity.
Two new Franck Muller patents have been taken out for the creation of this "flying" Tourbillon, which brings the total to four Franck Muller patents for the Master Imperial Tourbillon. It is 5mm thick and contains 170 components, assembled completely by the watchmakers at the WATCHLAND site.
The Master Imperial Tourbillon adapts to a variety of shapes and styles of watch-cases and dials; presenting unequalled possibilities for the personalization of the made-to-order watch in the world of Fine Watchmaking.
The upper bridge can, for example, be personalized by substituting Franck Muller's initials with those of the owner, or any other symbol he chooses. The other side of this "flying" Tourbillon and the engraving work on the mechanism can be admired through the transparent watch-back.
Originally, the Tourbillon represented a power that escaped man's control. It has now become a symbol of controlled freedom, thanks to the gift and dexterity of its designer and the watchmakers who make it.
